Evidence-Based Interventions & Training

We believe that sustainable change requires data and skilled hands. GWHI serves as a knowledge hub, bridging the gap between global medical standards and local realities.

Capacity Building: We conduct intensive training workshops for healthcare providers on Colposcopy and Cervical Screening, ensuring that front-line workers are equipped to detect and treat pre-cancerous lesions early.

Public Health Research: Our current and past research initiatives focus on the intersections of culture and health, including:

  • The Nutritional Culture of Girls in Pakistan: Analyzing how gender bias in feeding practices affects long-term health.
  • Domestic Violence Prevalence: Understanding the health impacts of violence on young girls to formulate better support systems.
  • Teen Health: Investigating the rise of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) among Pakistani teenagers.

A Voice for the Voiceless

GWHI operates at the intersection of healthcare and human rights. We advocate for policy changes that protect the most vulnerable.

  • Cervical Cancer Elimination: We are aligned with the World Health Organization’s 90-70-90 targets (90% vaccination, 70% screening, 90% treatment). We relentlessly advocate for government funding and public uptake of the HPV vaccine.
  • Reproductive Rights: We campaign for the recognition of reproductive health as a non-negotiable human right, irrespective of class, color, or creed.
  • Destigmatization: Through media appearances, university lectures, and community sessions, we actively dismantle myths surrounding menopause, infertility, and menstrual health, normalizing conversations that save lives.
